Goodbyes are Never Easy
Since 2010, Abode has been a trusted member of the Wichita community, a supporter of the Wichita art and music scene, and a place to call home for your life event. Some consider us the catalyst for the venue boom in Wichita, of which we are humbled and proud. We’ve always been people focused and community driven with the end goal to be a small part of your bigger story.
As the leader in event venues in Wichita, it has been an honor and privilege to host hundreds of incredible events and be part of so many special days in the lives of others, and it saddens us to announce that ABODE will host our last event on July 31, 2019.
Transitions Group, Inc., a 100% Employee Owned Company and Parent Company of ABODE Venue, Furniture Options, and ExecuStay/Oakwood Midwest, made the strategic decision to close ABODE effective July 31, 2019. The company will focus its efforts and resources on their core businesses located in seven states across the Midwest.
Rest assured, we are here for you through the end of July!
If you have an event booked prior to July 31, 2019, it’s business as usual and we want to assure you that your event is still on our schedule and we look forward to helping you plan and host your event. The ABODE team, headed by Stefanie Rowland and Josh Hall, will continue to provide you and your guests the same level of exceptional quality service you’ve come to expect. We are committed to ensuring your event is one of the best chapters of your story.
In fact, there are still many dates available prior to closing, and ABODE plans to continue booking events through the end of July 2019.
For those of you who have booked events after the closing date of July 31, 2019, personal calls and emails have been sent out explaining the cancellation, as well as provide information regarding the refunding of any deposits paid. We are committed to helping you find another quality location. We have great relationships with many trusted local vendors and will ensure this transition is as easy as possible for you.
Eight years ago, we turned a contemporary furniture store into a well-appointed venue that changed the face of venues in Wichita. We’ve been privileged to watch hundreds of first dances, host CD release parties for local bands, listen to inspiring guest speakers, learn from highly informative business execs and small business owners, and share in the joy of a 50th wedding anniversary. We’ve grown, expanded our smarts, learned to live better, strengthened relationships, made new friends, and solidified our belief in the strength of our city of Wichita–all because of you.
It’s been fun and we will miss being part of our story.
